painting: portrait of samira Samira modeled for the Open Figure Session long pose that we do every Wednesday night at Eye St. Studios. The building is a wonderful industrial building that has housed studio space for the last ten years, thanks to sculptor Mike Abrams. During our figure sessions, the band U.S. Royalty often practices in their studio space next door. They played a few songs. So did band The Coats, who practices in a space on the same floor. Sarah completed this portrait sketch in the three hour session from life.
